Description
Project Overview
The objective is the physical extraction of existing concrete fence post footings from the ground. This service is focused on removal only and does not include post replacement, fence installation, or advanced site restoration.
1. Scope of Services
-
Post Preparation: Cutting off any remaining wood or metal posts flush with the concrete base (if applicable).
-
Excavation: Manual or mechanical digging around the perimeter of the concrete “plug” to a depth sufficient for extraction.
-
Extraction: Removal of the concrete footing from the post hole.
-
Debris Management: Moving the extracted concrete footings to a designated on-site location (e.g., a driveway or curb) for pickup.
2. Out-of-Scope (Not Included)
To keep the service “basic,” the following items are specifically excluded unless negotiated otherwise:
-
Off-site Hauling: Disposal of concrete at a dump or recycling center.
-
Backfilling: Providing new soil or gravel to fill the resulting holes.
-
Landscaping: Re-seeding grass, replacing sod, or repairing garden beds disturbed during digging.
-
Utility Hand-Digging: Hand-digging required due to un-marked private utility lines (irrigation, low-voltage lighting).
-
Permitting: Any local permits required for demolition or excavation.
Worksite Requirements
-
Access: The client must provide a clear path (at least 3–4 feet wide) for workers and equipment (like a jackhammer or engine hoist).
-
Utility Marking: The client is responsible for ensuring all underground utility lines are marked prior to arrival.
-
Obstructions: Areas around the posts must be cleared of furniture, potted plants, or debris before work begins.
Project Completion Criteria
The job is considered complete when:
-
All specified concrete footings have been removed from the ground.
-
The footings are placed in the agreed-upon on-site staging area.
-
The open holes are left clearly visible or temporarily covered for safety.
